About
Independent consulting
Cumberland Geoservices works directly for clients — not as a subcontractor to a construction firm or under pressure to support a predetermined outcome.
That independence matters when technical conclusions carry weight: in regulatory submittals, safety evaluations, or decisions about aging infrastructure.
Cumberland Geoservices is the independent consulting practice of Peter Krembs, PG, an Engineering Geologist based in Nashville, Tennessee. I work with clients throughout the state and across the mid-South region. My background includes extensive federal experience in geotechnical work across Tennessee and surrounding areas.
I focus on karst site characterization, slope stability, seismic hazards assessment, and Phase I ESA — technical areas where geologic understanding is central to good engineering decisions. My work covers the full range from field investigation through analysis, documentation, and regulatory support.
I hold a Tennessee Professional Geologist registration and graduate training in geologic hazards and geological engineering. My clients include engineering firms, government agencies, and infrastructure owners who need reliable, independent geologic analysis.
